The dual-core, Hyper-Threading 3.2 GHz Core i3 processor zooms through demanding workloads, while smooth graphics are provided by the powerful ATI Radeon HD 5670 discrete graphics processor and 512 MB of dedicated GDDR3 video memory. Apple placed the processor and GPU as far apart as possible to aid cooling - helping this slim Mac produce just 18 decibels of noise at idle.
Apple's famous attention to detail is displayed in several innovations that make everyday use more enjoyable. For example, the included Magic Mouse features a touch-sensitive surface to bring trackpad-like gestures to the desktop, while the iMac's wireless keyboard eliminates clutter. A discreetly-positioned iSight webcam at the top of the display adds video-chat capabilities, and two powerful 17-watt speakers deliver astonishing sound quality and volume - brilliant for music and movies.
It almost goes without saying that the Apple iMac MC509 offers full connectivity too, including four USB 2.0 ports, a high-speed FireWire 800 port, an SDXC memory card slot, Mini DisplayPort, Gigabit Ethernet, Wireless N networking, Bluetooth, and combined optical and analogue audio in and out ports.
