American Audio's flagship digital media deck is a versatile, hybrid, player for digital music Djs and computer Djs. With the ability to playback media from sd card, usb storage devices (memory sticks, harddrives or mp3 players etc), and the ability to control software, the Radius 2000 gives professional level, hands-on control when Djing from mp3 media. The large 6-inch (150mm) Jog wheel has led illumination that represents the rotation of a cd, and also gives the dj intricate pitch bending capabilities as well as the sought after scratch function. 9 on-board dsp effects mean filters, flangers, echos and such can be applied to your Cds and Mp3s for creative sound shaping. Creative mixing is also simple, with 3 hot-cue points and seamless loop functions. Additional features such as master-tempo, variable pitch ranges and anti-shock performance are all complemented by the large, bright display that shows track titles and artist id tags. Radius 2000 has a red led visual marker display that rotates around the jog wheel to show the reference point of where the cd disc would be playing (if there was one!). When connected to computer, via usb, all the buttons and controls on the deck can be assigned to control parameters and settings on any midi compatible software. If using Traktor dj, Serato, Cue or any other dj software, the Radius gives natural control over digital music, with the ability to switch back to mp3s on sd card or usb device at any point. This is a great innovation for mp3 Dj, and probably the first cd deck without a cd drive!
